SMR&E LLC is a full service public accounting firm that was established in June 2014. The firm provides monthly bookkeeping services, prepares individual and business tax returns, assist in the establishment of new businesses, payroll services, consulting services, and provides audit and attestation services. As such, our clients include individuals, small businesses, not for profit organizations, and other entities. We are located in downtown Valdosta, Georgia. Our firm strives to provide the utmost in customer care and the highest standards in financial and accounting services.
Stephen M. Rice
Mr. Rice graduated from Valdosta State University with dual undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance, and a Masters of Accountancy. Mr. Rice has over six years of accounting experience primarily focusing on taxation and compliance for small businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals. Mr. Rice has an additional four years of work experience as an insurance agent for Woodmen of the World where he sold life and health insurance as well as provided financial advising services to businesses and individuals.
Mr. Rice is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Georgia, and a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (Valdosta Chapter)and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
Mr. Rice is a founding member of SMR&E LLC.
Kevin Farmer
Mr., Farmer holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Valdosta State University, and a Masters of Accounting from Stetson University. Mr. Farmer’s corporate experience includes cost accounting, property and sales tax preparation and reporting, payroll compliance, and financial statement preparation for corporations. Prior to his accounting studies, Mr. Farmer spent 14 years in various aspects of law enforcement.
Mr., Farmer is a licensed certified public accountant and serves on the Accounting Advisory Board at Valdosta State University. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and is currently serving as the 2015-2016 Secretary and Treasurer with the Valdosta chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs.
